Manifesto

v1.0

Vision

A world in which joyful learning and development is the standard.

Mission

Make powerful ideas a part of people's life.

THE P R O B L E M

In a world with both infinite opportunities on the one and plenty of struggles on the other end, the essential building block of The Good Life is simple.

'The Good Life' = A life we really want to live.

... whatever this means for us.

Becoming better at creating this life for ourselves is the essence of personal growth.

icon
'Personal Growth' = Increasing your ability to create a life you really want to live.

On the highest level, this ability consists of beliefs and of skills.

Beliefs about the world, about ourselves and about ourselves in this world.

Beliefs about what's real, about what's probable and about what's possible.

Skills in understanding, in deciding and in taking action.

Skills with things, with people and with situations.

Both beliefs and skills require ideas.

Ideas to help us form knowledge, develop a more useful perspective and learn new things.

icon
'Idea' = Any notion or concept that unlocks something we can imagine, ponder, think about or act on.

Today, there is no shortage of inspiring, educational and potentially life-altering ideas about everything from physics and psychology to health science and philosophy.

The problem is not availability.

However, it is increasingly hard to tap into meaningful ideas for two reasons:

  1. Irrelevant information. Noise buries signals.
  2. Instant gratification. Entertainment floods education.

Idea hosting and distribution platforms (such as social media, video platforms, the book market in general, traditional media etc.) are not optimized as gateways to the ideas you need.

This creates a problem of accessibility.

At the same time, our reputation-based society gives rise to the phenomenon of expert-ism and guru-ism.

We tend to believe that we can only learn well enough from those with the right credentials — being blind to the specific wisdom and inspiration those right next to us could provide in any given situation.

This creates a problem of centralization.

Useful and potentially life-changing ideas exist in plenty.

But we need to improve the way we package, present, access and distribute them on a regular basis.

We should make the search for, the exploration of and the engagement with good ideas a central part of our lives — in an effective, yet enjoyable way.

Enter MindVault.

THE S O L U T I O N

There are four main challenges an effective, sustainable and mass-scalable solution to the problem of under-leveraged ideas needs to overcome.

  1. The Access Point Challenge
  2. The Hosting Challenge
  3. The Mapping Challenge
  4. The Verification Challenge

Phases towards a new culture of ideas

Phase | O N E

MindVault

The goal of this stage is to build a simple, static portal to strictly curated (hand-selected) useful ideas with broadly related resource lists.

Access gates to ideas are created collaboratively (i.e. many people can contribute ideas).
